The Whole Story’s Fit For Farming Webinar Series is designed to support farmers in being physically fit, appropriately fueled and mentally strong to meet the unique demands of farming.
Made possible by funding from Beef + Lamb New Zealand’s CSI and SSI regions, the series brings together experts who understand farming and its challenges. Hosted by Becks Smith, from The Whole Story, this series of three webinars is free to attend and will be accessible online via Zoom, with recordings available afterward.
Webinar 1: Movement for farmers
- Led by Storm Baynes-Ryan, a farmer and physiotherapist known as “That Farming Physio,” the first session focuses on practical movement tips to help farmers stay injury-free and moving well so they can do the job, but also enjoy life alongside farming.
Webinar 2: Fuelling the farmer
- Accredited sports dietitian Conrad Goodhew, renowned for his work with the Crusaders Rugby team will present the second session, “Fuelling the Farmer.” Conrad will cover optimal nutritional strategies that can keep farmers energised and ready for the demands of their daily work.
Webinar 3: Farm fitness
- The series concludes with Kane Brisco, dairy farmer and founder of Farm Fit, who will discuss breaking down physical and mental barriers and establishing a healthy mindset to tackle farm challenges. Known for his book Tools for the Top Paddock, Kane emphasises that small, consistent efforts in physical and mental fitness can make a significant difference.
Each one-hour webinar includes a presentation followed by a Q&A so make sure you attend in person so you don’t miss the opportunity to ask all those burning questions! This series aims to support a community of farmers to prioritise health and wellbeing to become “Fit For Farming” with strength and confidence.
