This week’s notices:
Voting underway on foot and mouth disease agreement
Sheep and beef levypayers are being asked to show support for B+LNZ joining an Operational Agreement between the agricultural sector and the Government on foot and mouth disease readiness and response. Voting letters and supporting information are arriving in farmers’ mailboxes and it’s important that farmers read the information and have their say. Voting, which is conducted online using the unique PIN and password in your letter, will close at 2pm on Friday 16 May. More info at www.beeflambnz.com/fmd-vote
Responding to questions on gene technology
Farmers have asked B+LNZ for more information on the complex topic of gene technology, following the recent short consultation period on the Gene Technology Bill. We’ve provided some further reading that outlines what gene technology involves, its potential uses, and its risks and benefits. Read more on our website.
