Entries are in for the inaugural Beef + Lamb New Zealand Awards and the organisation is delighted with both the number and calibre of the nominations received.
B+LNZ’s Chief Executive Sam McIvor says they have received an encouraging number of entries across the eight award categories and all are of an extremely high calibre.
“The overwhelming response to these inaugural Awards indicates there is a real desire to acknowledge and celebrate the many people who are doing exceptional work throughout our industry.”
“What is particularly pleasing is the number of farmers who have been nominated and this highlights the extraordinary work farmers are doing, beyond running their businesses, for the good of the environment, their community, the sector and the economy.”
Mr McIvor acknowledges the difficult job the judges will have to select the category winners.
“Judging is underway and I do not envy their task. There are so many people who deserve the accolades and while there can only be one winner in each category, the Awards evening in Napier on 20 October, (COVID levels permitting) will be an opportunity for our industry to get together and acknowledge all the entrants and nominees and the work they are doing to make our red meat sector world-leading.”
Details about the Beef + Lamb New Zealand Awards Evening will be released shortly.
