Beef + Lamb New Zealand (B+LNZ) hosted its annual Ladies' Long Lunch events throughout the South Island and Western North Island, providing rural women the opportunity to connect.
The events, held in Northern South Island, Central South Island, Southern South Island and Western North Island, celebrate the achievement of rural women and provide an opportunity to upskill and make new connections.
Attendees range from farmers to industry professionals.
Hannah Blakely, B+LNZ’s Lead Extension Manager South Island, who attended the Southern South Island event says networking events like the Ladies Long Lunches are important in rural areas to provide both support and inspiration.
“By promoting collaboration, empowering women, and fostering industry connections, the events reinforce B+LNZ’s commitment to supporting and showcasing women in our sheep and beef industry,” she says.
“The room was buzzing as we heard from incredible women adding value to their farm, businesses and rural community. We sampled delicious locally produced beef and lamb and connected over our passion for the sector and food.
“There is a real sense of community within the industry, support for each other and excitement for the future of New Zealand’s red meat sector.”
