Surfing for Farmers is running at 25 locations nationwide this summer, with some sessions already underway in Southland and Tauranga.
Beef + Lamb New Zealand (B+LNZ) is proud to be a national partner of the initiative that supports rural mental health by getting people off farm and into the ocean.
Justine Kidd, B+LNZ GM Extension, says the popular initiative is a fantastic opportunity for farmers to take some time off farm, connect with their peers and learn a new skill.
“It offers farmers the chance to take both a mental and physical break from farming. Even if you’re unsure, I really encourage you to come to one session and see what it’s about.
“All lessons are free and include a board and wetsuit with a BBQ after,” she says.
